Bestseller Ellis the Elephant Delights Kids and Adults in Callista Gingrich’s From Sea To Shining Sea

SOURCE:  ASCOT MEDIA
Arlington, VA – Callista Gingrich announces the release of From Sea to Shining Sea (Regnery Kids), the fourth volume in her New York Times bestselling Ellis the Elephant seriesFrom Sea to Shining Sea.

A patriotic American history introduction for young children, From Sea to Shining Sea follows an adorable elephant named Ellis in exploring the early years of the United States and the epic journey west into uncharted territory with Lewis and Clark. Charming rhymes and beautiful illustrations make the 50th reading as fun as the first, for children as well as adults!

In earlier books, Sweet Land of Liberty, Land of the Pilgrims’ Pride, and Yankee Doodle Dandy, Ellis, the time-traveling pachyderm, learns about pivotal moments that shaped America. Authored by Callista Gingrich and illustrated by Susan Arciero, From Sea to Shining Sea will delight those who want to know how brave Americans forged a growing nation and spread freedom from coast to coast.

Callista Gingrich is the president of Gingrich Productions. She and her husband, Newt─ a former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives─host and produce historical and public policy documentaries. Recent films include A City Upon A Hill, America at Risk, and Nine Days that Changed the World.

Mrs. Gingrich is also the co-author of Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny.  Her photography is featured in the New York Times bestseller Rediscovering God in America. An avid musician, she sings in the Choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. and plays French horn with the City of Fairfax Band in Fairfax, Virginia. She resides in McLean, Virginia with her husband, Newt Gingrich, who will accompany her on the upcoming book tour.

Animation Rules! – Advice From Veteran Professional Steve Hickner To Help Achieve Success

SOURCE:  BRIGANTINE MEDIA
St. Johnsbury, VT – You gotta know the Rules! Steve Hickner’s Animation Rules! (ISBN 9781938406386, Trade Paper, 118 pages, $14.95) lays out 52 rules for everyone who works in animation and other creative pursuits. The book is now available nationwide.

Hickner, a veteran film director at DreamWorks Animation, divides his 52 rules into five sections:

• Do the Right Thing
• Portfolios, Presentations, and Pitches
• Improve Yourself
• Cold Hard Truths
• It’s a Career

The rules offer succinct career advice for anyone working in a creative field. Some rules are counter-intuitive: “Open strong. Close stronger” (Rule 17) recommends putting the second-best piece of work first in a portfolio, and the best piece last. Others give insights that only a longtimeAnimation Rules professional would know: “Every studio is two flops from disaster” (Rule 38).

Hickner has illustrated each rule with a drawing featuring Rulio, the fictitious animator who does not follow the rules. “Immerse yourself in inspiration” (Rule 29), shows a colleague whose work is inspired by great movies, while Rulio dreams about cupcakes.

At DreamWorks Animation, Hickner directed the films The Prince of Egypt and Jerry Seinfeld’s Bee Movie. At Stephen Spielberg’s Amblimation studio, Hickner produced the films An American Tail: Fievel Goes West and Balto. He has also worked at Walt Disney Animation Studios and has been a storyboard artist for Peabody and Sherman, Shrek Forever After, Over the Hedge, Madagascar, Shark Tale, and Antz. He frequently lectures at universities. His first book, Animating Your Career, was published in 2013.

Animation Rules! is the first in a brand-new series of Rules! books to be published by Brigantine Media. Upcoming titles include Customer Service Rules!, Business Rules!, Retail Rules!, and Supermarket Rules!. Each Rules! book is written by an expert in the field, and is illustrated by Steve Hickner.
