ARE YOU LOOKING TO GROW?  HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR TWO YEARS ?  THIS IS THE PROGRAM FOR YOU.

Your Management Team  is launching The Entrepreneur Exchange,an education program helping small businesses increase their revenue, expand their workforce, andsba-logo-op_original_crop provide a greater impact on their local economies.  The Entrepreneur Exchange is funded by the Small Business Administration’s Scale Up America program and is provided at no cost to participants. The program is open to businesses at least 2 years  old whose annual revenue is between $150,000 – $500,000. A 12 month commitment is required and only 30 companies will be selected to participate.  Classes start January 20, 2015 and applications are due by December 20, 2014.

San Francisco Classes

Federal/State Basic Payroll Tax Seminar 1/6/2015 – Tuesday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM This seminar guides participants through the basis of that preparation.  Subjects include determining independent contractor versus employee, withholding taxes, deposits and completing the proper forms.  

Assertive vs. Passive or Aggressive Behavior for Business Owners 1/6 – Tuesday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM $45 Registration Fee   The differences between assertive, passive and aggressive behavior, and the roots of each behavior style, will be explored.  

Free and Low Cost Resources for Your Business 1/7 – Wednesday 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Representatives from SBA, the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, the San Francisco Public Library Small Business Center, SCORE, San Francisco Small Business Development Center, the Department of the Environment and a Women’s Business Center representative will discuss the resources available.

Starting a Business in San Francisco 1/7 – Wednesday 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM In this informative class you will hear directly from the San Francisco Office of Small Business on rules, regulations, and important considerations for starting a business in San Francisco. Learn how to register your business, file a fictitious business name, and obtain other permits and licenses.  You will also receive information on city programs and resources, including small business loans, tax credits and incentives, and technical assistance providers.

Financing Your Small Business 1/7 – Wednesday 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM A panel of experts representing SBA, a micro lender, an SBA Community Advantage lender, a bank or credit union, and an alternative lender, will discuss financing options, what lenders are looking for, credit requirements, and the importance of a relationship with a financial institution.  Eligibility guidelines and loan application procedures will also be covered.

Business Law Basics 1/7 – Wednesday 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM Current and prospective business owners will get an overview of important legal issues faced by small businesses including choosing the right legal entity, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property, hiring employees, and commercial leases, presented by an experienced business lawyer. This class does not constitute legal advice.

Small Business Online Marketing 101  1/7 – Wednesday 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Learn how to achieve success in online marketing.  Case studies on small business online marketing will be discussed to share with you how to reach, educate and convert consumers to an online marketing platform.  Space is Limited.

Creating and Troubleshooting Your Website 1/8 – Thursday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM $25 registration fee.  Come listen to and talk with a pro about the basics of website design. 

Bookkeeping for Small Business 1/8 – Thursday 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM Topics include cash vs. accrual accounting, proper accounting data flow processes, budgeting, the purpose of different financial reports, the differences in computer accounting systems, cash management, and more.  $40 registration fee.

Roadmap to Social and Marketing for Small Business Success 1/9 – Friday 9:00 AM – 12Noon Session 1: You’re Social, Now What? Making Social Media Work for You 9 to 10:30 AM and Session 2: Making the Case for Mobile Marketing 10:45 to noon.  

Restaurant Series: How to Run a Profitable Restaurant 1/12 – Monday 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM $40 registration fee. This class will cover: understanding food, beverage and labor costs.  We will provide you the tools to develop schedule forecasts, recipe-plate costing, and inventory management.

Protecting the Golden Goose 1/12 – Monday 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Keep your business thriving by learning how you as the entrepreneur (the Golden Goose) can keep producing golden eggs by learning the basics of fitness, nutrition, and life coaching strategies. 

Success Strategies for Buying, Selling and Financing a Business or Franchise 1/13 – Tuesday 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM $35 registration fee.  A two-hour course designed to give you essential tools to meet your goals for buying or selling a business or franchise. 

Raising Money, An Angel Investors View 1/14 – Wednesday 9:00 AM – 12Noon $35 Registration Fee.  Learn about fund-raising from seasoned angel investors. Attendees will be provided with a generic pitch, valuation methods and term sheets.  

Crowdfunding Marketing Basics 1/14 – Wednesday 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM Need funding to manufacture your product idea? Learn about crowdfunding and how marketing strategy (contacts, story, video, rewards) is critical to maximizing the amount of money you raise.  

Marketing Made Easy 1/14 – Wednesday 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM Topics will include:  identifying your target market; establishing a framework for evaluating and monitoring your marketing efforts; designing signature marketing tactics and building systems.

14 Week Business Planning Class 1/13 – Tuesday 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM This intensive, 14-week 80-hour program focuses on helping students create a practical, effective business plan for their own business.  The class addresses every aspect of starting a small business including marketing, management, finance, tax and record keeping. Students receive individual consultations, financial templates, coaching on how to get funded, and a business plan review session. Completing this course will lay the foundation necessary to embark on the exciting journey of business ownership. (Class meets every Tuesdays & Thursdays for 14-weeks, 1/13 is the first class.) at Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, Women’s Business Center, 275 5th Street, San Francisco, CA.  Cost: $350 – $750 – A limited number of partial scholarships are available with appropriate documentation.

The Intentional Entrepreneur 1/20 – Tuesday 6:00 PM  –  9:00 PM Oakland, CA.  Small business training program for Veterans conducted in Oakland, CA.  Interactive, three-hour workshop guides participants through the process of new business.  Participants will assess their entrepreneurial interest, identify their personal and professional goals, and develop the action steps necessary to make business ownership a reality.  Space is limited.  Registration required by 1/6/2015.  For information, contact Noah Harris – Veterans Programs at 510-830-3227 or noah@obdc.com.
