In 1980 Venus Ebony Starr Williams an American professional tennis player and former number one ranked player in the world was born. She is one of only five women to win over 200 plus main draw Grand Slam singles tennis matches in the Open Era. Venus Williams in 2002 became the first African-American woman to be ranked # 1 in the world.
